Конкурс журнала «StrateGems» судил Марио Гарсия. Его поверхностные присуждения с бессмысленными комментариями похожи между собой больше, что клонированные овцы. Редактору следовало бы подправить некоторые фразы, так как они звучат нелепо. Известно, что судья обожает три простые идеи.

Когда видит жертвы, пат и мат.
Эти идеи доминируют в нескольких этюдах, поэтому судья не смог определиться с лучшим этюдом конкурса, и разделил победу на три этюда и пять композиторов.
Петер Круг. Голосую за этот этюд, так как остальные еще хуже. Комбинации с взаимными жертвами ферзей встречались и на практике, и в этюдном творчестве. За дуаль при форсированной игре надо было строго наказывать.

You criticize the technical side line 6…Ka6 7.Nc7 with #62 after Lomonosov.
It has been known for some time that the final R + 2 minor pieces against R + 1 minor piece is in general won.
Please show me a better (human) introduction for this idea.
Does a bad introduction turn into a good one if it is the best possible? -I think it doesn’t. So, your introduction was bad and will remain bad because it uses Lomonosov lines to show a small idea.
Of course, that’s only my opinion. Other people may beleive that your study shows «a surprising variety of unambiguous sequences culminating in a mate in the main line».
I criticize like you other studies. Unlike you, I’ll show the author how to do it better. Otherwise I would rather be quiet.
